Broken Hill Visitors Centre
The Broken Hill Flying Doctors Base, as featured in The Flying Doctors TV series is one of the only Flying Doctor Bases located at the airport that you can tour any day of the week.
You can walk through and experience first-hand a real life Flying Doctors base in action, hear an informative talk, purchase souvenirs, view historical photos and equipment including pedal wirelesses.

Historic Broken Hill
The Base is open to the public seven days a week. Opening hours are seasonal. To check opening times please phone 0111 61 8 8080 1777 (from outside Australia) or 08 8080 1777 (from within Australia). Coach groups are always welcome (please book).
Broken Hill is one of Australia's great, undiscovered tourist destinations. "The Hill" has a rich history and some of the most spectacular desert scenery anywhere.
In and around Broken Hill you can go down a mine, have a drink at one of the many historical hotels, including the famous Silverton Hotel (location of many world famous movies, including Mad Max) or take in the amazing desert scenery. Broken Hill is home to a large and well-known community of artists and has many art galleries.
