Working as a Flight Nurse for the Royal Flying Doctor Service has been a life long goal, one that I am proud to have achieved.
The majority of our workload at the Bundaberg Base revolves around interhospital transfers, enabling me to draw upon all the previous experience and skills that I had acquired whilst working in the hospital system.
This type of work also provides many opportunities to learn more whilst still working in an autonomous environment with support always available at the end of the phone.
It is a satisfying job as every flight is unlike the one before and I am abke to meet a large number of people from a varity of backgrounds with varying conditions.
In addition to the nursing side of the job I work closely with both the medical and aviation strams in which we all band together to get the job done. It is a fantastic job.
